"Composition in Two" 80 x 56 x 40cm Plywood,Lacquer Finish

This piece “Composition in Two” is part of a body of work, that started back in 2006. (“Spirit of the Trees”). It was a response which came from a reflection on the issue of sustainability, and as a result, the main elements of the piece were constructed using plywood from plantation timbers (a renewable source). The work also serves as an exploration on the possibilities of this material which is so visually appealing. The three elements seem to be engaged in a playful dialogue, unaware of their real significance.
