Vessels is about the use and manipulation of space, through the use of formal boundaries, which become the work of art.
In the words of the great Spanish sculptor Julio Gonzalez, "Treat space as if it were a new found material", creating as a result, the other famous expression, "Drawing in Space".
In vessels I also explore the relationship between the inner and the outer, symbolised by our own human body in St Paul's second letter to the Corinthians as "Urns and Vessels".
In order to emphasise this symbolism, the works have been given an organic feeling using finishes, which resemble bone or the translucency of skin.
